Brief History of our Pedanandipadu Educational Development Society, Pedanandipadu.

                            The Pedanandipadu Educational Development Society was established in the year 1968 by the Pedanandipadu Educational Development Society, Pedanandipadu. The college was the dream of Sri karanam chinnaiah garu, a local leader who belonged to agrarian family, and who was inspired by the noble zeal to make this village Pedanandipadu an educational centre for higher learning, although the place was considered a backward area at that time. The place was already known for its participation in no-tax payment movement  against the British under the leadership of Sri Parvataneni Veeeria Chowdary garu by the call of Mahatma Gandhi.

                               Sri Karanam Chinnaiah garu collected the land for starting of a college for the students of poor agricultural families of 20 villages around Pedanandipadu and his efforts were supported by Sri Madala Venkaiah garu Sri Lavu Veera Bhadraiah garu, Sri Biruduraju Venkata Applaraju garu and other local farmers, who met Sri Tella Krishnamma Choudary garu, a retired Judge in order to get his guidance and co-operation.  Sri Tella Krishnamma Choudary garu readily accepted to join with them and “The Pedanandipadu Educational Development Society” was formed with Sri Yarlagadda Ranganayakulu garu as president and Sri Tella Krishnamma Choudary garu as Secretary. Very soon these great people were successful in starting the College with PUC courses, B.A. and B.Com courses, affiliated to Andhra University. With the permission of the government of Andhra Pradesh 0n 14-07-1968 the then District Collector Sri M. Venkata Ratnam garu inaugurated this college. Sri J. Poulus, the retired principal of A.C. College, was the founder Principal of this institution. In 1973 B.Sc. course was started in our college. From its humble beginning in a small building the college has grown into a well reputed Educational Institution among rural colleges with all facilities, namely, a good and spacious library, well equipped laboratories, large class rooms, a central seminar hall, a good gymnasium, with spacious play ground. At present the college is under the dynamic leadership of the present Secretary & Correspondent Dr Lavu Rattiah garu, chairman, Vignan Group of Educational Institutions. Under his dynamic and imaginative leadership the college has been progressing towards realising the dreams of its founders.
